Star Night

Saturday, July 18, 2020 - 9:00pm to 11:45pm

Enjoy the Garden at night! Bring your own chairs or blanket to spread out on the lawn and look up at the night sky. On July 18, Saturn and Jupiter will be very close to opposition, which means they will be visible all night! Earth and the two giant planets will be at their closest relative points in our paths around the sun, providing our best view of them all year. A telescope will be set up in The Holmes Family Square at the top of the A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Floral Terraces, with Garden staff on hand to facilitate viewings of stellar, planetary and deep sky objects.

Only red flashlights are encouraged, to improve our night vision. We are limiting the number of tickets for this event to 30, and expect to sell out. If the weather forces us to cancel this event, we will offer an alternate date or a refund.  Our staff will be wearing masks and we encourage attendees to as well, especially when inside visitor center and restrooms

Advance Tickets only. (no sales at the door)  Garden gates open at 9:00 p.m.  and close at 11:59 p.m.  This event is come-and-go for ticket holders.
