Show your creativity in Tulsa Botanic Garden's annual scarecrow show! Registration is open to anyone. It is a perfect activity to do as a group OR as an individual. The sky is the limit as far as what you can do. Think BIG, think small, think old, young, human and non-human, traditional and original. Use your IMAGINATION and HAVE FUN!

Great for businesses, schools, scouts and other youth organizations, families, artists, ....anyone!

Scarecrows will be on display September 22-October 30 during our Autumn In the Botanic Garden festivities!

Registration OPENS Aug. 15
Registration due: Monday, Sept. 5, 2022
Scarecrow drop-off: By appointment on September 16th, 17th, or 19th
Scarecrows on display: Sept. 22-Oct. 30

MAX SIZE 4 × 5ft

Your entry must be able to live outdoors for the 5 week run of Autumn in the Botanic Garden. Please keep Oklahoma weather in mind when designing and engineering (STEM!) your scarecrow. Attach everything firmly, and avoid using materials and items that may blow away easily or be ruined by rain.

The Garden will handle the placement and installation of your scarecrow. Each entry will be zip-tied to a T-post coming out of a hay bale (T-post and hay bale are provided). Signage will be provided that will list your name (or group or business name) along with your scarecrow's title.

We ask that your scarecrow be family-friendly. People from all walks of life and of all ages visit the Garden, and we want everyone to have a pleasant experience. Please use your best judgement, and keep political and religious messaging out of your scarecrow entry.

Botanic Vodka Launch and Tasting Party

Thursday, August 25, 2022 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Join us for vodka and cocktail tastings and hors d’oeuvres as we celebrate the release of Red Fork Distillery’s new Vodka created in partnership with Tulsa Botanic Garden. A portion of the sale of each bottle benefits the Botanic Garden.

Taking inspiration from the Botanic Garden, Red Fork Distillery hand-crafted the vodka with infusions of botanical essences including juniper berries, coriander seeds and orange peel. Red Fork Distillery owners and staff will be on hand to share more about the distillation and infusion process.

Local artist Josh Stout, whose work was commissioned for the label, will also be at the party to sign bottles. Full prints of his art used for the label will be available for sale and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Garden.

Tickets are $75 each and include a bottle of Vodka. The event will be inside the Garden’s Mabee Grange. Event is ages 21+ only.

With a passion to create a locally-crafted delicious line of spirits, Mike and Dana Hoey started Red Fork Distillery in Tulsa in 2015. It is Oklahoma’s first legal distillery since prohibition ended in 1933. More about Red Fork Distillery at
